AOC Steps on Rake, Again

One-term Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez attempted to debunk on Sen. John Cornyn after she completely misunderstood the argument he was making.

Cornyn took to twitter to make a point about Medicare underpaying hospitals while increasing private health insurance prices. Because Medicare reimburses doctors at such low rates, many doctors simply refuse to take Medicare patients outright, or have to bill private insurance more to offset. Sen. Cornyn pointed out the latter effect on twitter:

Because she doesn’t understand economics, AOC interpreted this as proof that we could make healthcare cheaper for everyone by switching to Medicare.

In reality, without being subsidized by the private sector, medicare for all would destroy hospitals by making it impossible for them to cover costs.

This isn’t the first time AOC stepped on a rake when attempting to attack Cornyn. Earlier in the year Cornyn posted the following quote from Benito Mussolini:

His point in posting the quote is obvious – to caution against a government that restricts the freedom of the individual. After all, that’s what a monster like Mussolini wanted.

Meanwhile, AOC somehow got the impression that Cornyn was quoting Mussolini in solidarity. Did she not even read the quote?

With takes like this, AOC is either the dumbest member of Congress – or their best demagogue.
