Bernie Sanders Admits Trump Fixed Biden’s Border Disaster

During a podcast appearance on comedian Tim Dillon’s show, where JD Vance has also previously appeared as a guest twice, Bernie Sanders admitted the Trump administration’s successes at the border.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) admitted during a podcast aired Wednesday that President Joe Biden failed to establish “a secure border” where President Donald Trump succeeded.

After admitting that you can’t have a nation without Borders, Sanders said “So, has historically the United States done well under Democrats and Republicans protecting the border? The answer is no. Trump did a better job. I don’t like Trump, you know, but we should have a secure border.

“And it ain’t that hard to do. Biden didn’t do it. Those before him did not do it,” Sanders added. “We should have a secure border period. I think most people in the Congress agree with that.”

While true overall, the last sentence in his comment is laughable - Democrats in Congress absolutely do *not* agree that we should have a secure border. 

Sanders has historically been against open borders, but was all over the place during his 2020 presidential campaign. While on the campaign trail in 2019 he said “If you open the borders, there's a lot of poverty in this world, and you're going to have people from all over the world. And I don't think that's something that we can do at this point. Can't do it.”

Yet he’d later also say that he said he wouldn’t close the border, even amid the COVID pandemic (where a health care argument could also be made in favor of closing it). He was one of the Democrats who raised his hand in favor of free healthcare for illegals (which was all of them), and accused Trump of trying to create an artificial crisis when he warned about the looming Biden border crisis ahead of leaving office in 2021.
