Biden Border Executive Order Still Lets 1.5 Million Illegals Cross Border Per Year

After years of saying there’s nothing he could possibly do to shut down the border, Joe Biden is now pretending to barely shut down the border as the November election nears with border issues at the top of the list of voter priorities. 

Yesterday, Biden signed an executive order that would temporarily suspend the entry of so-called migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border once that average number of border encounters tops 2,500 a day. The suspension on allowing in “migrants” then lasts until 14 days after there's fewer than 1,500 encounters on average for a week. 

As the National Pulse noted in their reporting: 

The order will allow approximately 1.5 million illegal aliens to cross the U.S. border annually. This executive order will facilitate the daily entry of 2,500 illegal immigrants through land crossings, totaling at least 912,000 individuals each year. 

The Biden government’s “parole” program, which allows immigrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela to fly into the U.S. at a rate of 30,000 per month, will continue under the new order. 

The executive order also includes exceptions for unaccompanied minors and other specific groups. These exceptions are not counted towards the daily 2,500-person cap. 

Donald Trump fired back in a campaign video, calling out Biden for surrendering the southern border, and only now pretending to do something about the border for show “because we have a debate coming up in three weeks.”

“The truth is, Biden’s executive order won’t stop the invasion. It’s weak and it’s pathetic. It’ll make the invasion worse. Millions of people a year will continue to pour across the border and be released into our country. And we recently learned Biden is secretly granting mass amnesty to hundreds of thousands of these illegal aliens, along with welfare, government benefits,  work permits, and jobs.”
