Clueless Democrat Rep. Attempts “Gotcha” - Is Immediately Stunned Into Silence

As overused as the word “literally” is nowadays, a Texas Democrat Rep. was literally left speechless when her “gotcha” question blew up in her face.
Texas State Democrat Rep. Jolanda Jones was inquiring about House Bill 4623, which abolishes immunity for public schools and professional school employees for “certain acts or omissions involving students.” In other words, immunity for those employees when it comes to covering up sexual misconduct.
Rep. Jones asked, clearly expecting this to be a “mic drop moment”; “Mr. [Texas Representative Mitch] Little, Can I ask why this bill doesn’t extend to private schools that receive voucher money?”
A mic drop moment followed, just not the kind she expected.
Before she even finished her question, Little fired back “Because they’re not immune from being sued. In fact, I’ve sued some of them.”
Jones stood there stunned in silence before eventually walking away.
Rep Mitch Little introduced the bill, which he said was to “remove governmental immunity from school districts and their employees for acts of intentional sexual abuse of various kinds—sexual assault, rape, indecent assault—and what I’ll call a laundry list of penal code violations that are described in the bill.”
The bill passed the House - with only six Reps. voting against it.
And Jolanda was still one of them.
