Former New York City Council Minority Leader Joe Borelli silenced a CNN panel that’s usually quick to interrupt with the facts over left-wing vs. right-wing violence.

Host Abby Phillip was reacting to comments made by VP JD Vance, who hosted Charlie Kirk’s show yesterday, which she framed as foreshadowing the persecution of political opponents.

Phillip framed Vance’s comments as an attempt to punish their political opponents, which Borelli immediately shut down by drawing attention to the core of Vance’s comments.

Vance had pointed out, in a comment that Phillip conveniently excluded, that “24% of self-described very liberals believe it is acceptable to be happy about the death of a political opponent, while only 3% of self-described very conservatives agree. 3% is too many, of course. Another truth is that 26% of young liberals believe political violence is sometimes justified. And only 7% of young conservatives say the same.”

“That means it is 6 to 1 times more likely in respondents to this poll on the left. But there is certainly a problem where six times the amount of Republicans believe that it’s okay to feel joy when your political opponent is killed,”  Borelli pointed out. “6 to 1 believe that they are okay in justifying violence against political opponents.”

“That’s a problem, that’s a cancer within the movement.”

Even leftists haven’t been able to attempt “whataboutism” about liberal politicians being the victims of violence… without drawing attention to violence being carried out by liberals.
