Earlier today the House Oversight Committee held a briefing titled “Voices from the Front: An Overdue Reckoning with Structural Racism in Policing.” Among those who testified included ACLU of Kentucky strategist Keturah Herron, activists Cephus Johnson and Marq Lewis, critical race theorist Kimberlé Crenshaw, Pastor Michael McBride, and obviously Dan Bongino.

The hearing was held before a full House vote is to take place on the “George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2020” next week, which was introduced by Jerry Nadler and rivals the legislation Tim Scott has proposed. Among many differences, one notable difference is that unlike Scott’s legislation, the Democrat version ends qualified immunity.
