Florida Apprehending So Many Illegals Feds Can’t Keep Up

Governor Ron DeSantis is making so much progress in apprehending illegal aliens in Florida that he’s exceeding the federal government’s capacity.
ICE arrests have more than doubled compared to last year nationally - but in Florida, they’ve tripled.
"[Sheriff] Grady Judd...pointed out: we're apprehending faster than DHS can hold and process. The results in Florida...have been so far above and beyond any other state in the country. Really, we're pointed to as the model," DeSantis said at the 2025 Florida Sheriffs Association conference.
This will be a temporary problem, because Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful” budget allocates $45 billion to be invested in new illegal alien detention centers. As one hysterical pro-illegal alien group noted; “It is a 62 percent larger budget than the entire federal prison system and could result in daily detention of at least 116,000 non-citizens.”
