Rep. Elise Stefanik held the presidents of the nation’s top universities’ feet to the fire during a congressional hearing on the regular anti-semitic protests on campuses since the October 7 Hamas terror attack.

During an exchange with Harvard President Claudine Gay, Stefanik began to ask ā€œHarvard students calling for the mass murder of African-Americans is not protected free speech at Harvard, correct?ā€

As Gay tried to dodge the question, Stefanik reminded her that it was a simple yes or no question.

ā€œLet me ask you this. You are president of Harvard, so I assume you’re familiar with the term intifada, correct?ā€ Stefanik asked.

ā€œI’ve heard that term, yes,ā€ Gay replied.

ā€œAnd you understand that the use of the term intifada in the context of the Israeli-Arab conflict is indeed a call for violent armed resistance against the state of Israel, including  violence against civilians and the genocide of Jews. Are you aware of that?ā€ Stefanik asked.

From there, Gay simply refused to directly answer, only eventually conceding that calling for an intifada was ā€œat odds with the values of Harvardā€ but wouldn’t answer if anything would actually be done about it.

Watch below:

Stefanik also questioned the Presidents of MIT and UPenn, who refused to answer what whether or not calling for genocide of Jews counts as ā€œbullying or harassmentā€ of Jewish students.

Harvard faced immense criticism for their delayed response to issuing a statement on the October 7 attack, and the reaction many student groups had to the attacks. On the night of the terror attack, a coalition of over 30 Harvard student groups posted an open letter claiming that Israel was ā€œentirely responsibleā€ for the terrorists who murdered its citizens.

Evidently, wearing a ā€œthere are only two gendersā€ t-shirt would cause more alarm to the people running Harvard, MIT, or UPenn than calls for genocide against Jews.
