Homan Provides Deportation Update: 400k Deported and Over 1.5 Million Self-Deportations

As ICE and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) makes record progress in physically deporting illegal aliens, self-deportations are accounting for a clear majority of those heading for the exits. 

Tom Homan explained during an appearance on Laura Ingraham’s show that ICE and CBP have conducted more than 400,000 deportations, but four times as many, an astonishing 1.6 million, have voluntarily left due to heightened enforcement measures as it’s clear there will finally be consequences for their actions. 

"We're at over 400,000 deportations between CBP and ICE, and that's just since the president took office," Homan said. "The first four months of the fiscal year, we can't count them because Joe Biden wasn't doing anything. But here's what people need to understand: over 1.5 million illegal aliens, close to 1.6 million illegal aliens, have already left the country on their own. Why? Because they see what ICE is doing out there every day."

Homan also noted that the surge in ICE agents will increase the number of apprehensions. "What's to come? ICE is getting 10,000 more agents," he said. "Right now, we have 5,000 deportation officers. We're tripling the size of the workforce."

Evidence of what Homan is claiming here is showing up in the jobs data, where all net job losses are coming from the foreign born, and all job gains under Trump are being taken by the native born.
