Amid media hysteria, the U.S. economy outperformed in March, according to the jobs report released today.
Employers added 228,000 new jobs, significantly exceeding economists' predictions, who had anticipated a gain of approximately 140,000 jobs for the month. In other words, the actual jobs number was 63% higher than predicted.
The unemployment rate did rise to 4.2%, but it's important to remember that this is because of useless government jobs being lost.
Key sectors driving the employment surge included healthcare, which added 54,000.
