Amazingly, you didn’t just read a Babylon Bee headline.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams seriously did propose making the recently arrived illegals in his city lifeguards on the basis that they’re “excellent swimmers,” presumably referring to their illegal trek across the U.S.-Mexico border.
“How do we have a large body of people that are in our city, our country, that are excellent swimmers and at the same time we need lifeguards, and the only obstacle is that we won’t give them the right to work to become a lifeguard,” Adams said. “That just doesn’t make sense.”
