Obama Raises Eyebrows With Advice for Young Men

Barack Obama isn’t doing himself any favors with the latest advice he’s dishing out for young men.
Obama leaves behind no legacy, with his hopes of having one being blown to smithereens by Donald Trump, and has occasionally tried to regain some relevance with an occasional media appearance.
This time he appeared on the IMO podcast, which is hosted by his wife and brother in law. He joined to discuss “what it takes to raise boys,” despite having no sons himself.
“One of the things that I think a lot of times boys need, is, not just exposure to one guy, one dad, no matter how good the dad. He can't be everything,” Obama began. “And that boy may need somebody to give the boy some perspective on the dad right?”
He then shared how one of his favorite college progressors was openly gay and would call him out for “saying stuff that was ignorant,” leading him to conclude that men need more “LGBTQ” friends to help them understand kindness and empathy.
“You need that, to show empathy and kindness. And by the way, you need that person in your friend group, so that if you then have a boy who is gay or non-binary or whatever, they have somebody that they can go, 'Okay, I'm not alone in this,' right? So that, I think, is creating that community. I know it's corny, but that's what they need.”
