Oh No: Jasmine Crockett Fears Losing Seat Due to Texas Redistricting

Jasmine Crockett complained that she may lose her seat in Congress if the Texas Legislature finalizes a new congressional map that significantly alters several Democratic-leaning districts.
Some Democrats in the rest of the nation have threatened retaliatory measures in the form of gerrymandering their states - but their states have already been so gerrymandered that they can barely even cost Republicans more seats if they tried.
Her remarks expressing concerns that she’d be redrawn out of her district came during a legislative hearing in which Texas lawmakers voted along party lines to advance the proposed redistricting plan out of committee.
“I do not currently reside in my district based upon the plan that has been drawn,” Crockett told the committee. “Which is another red flag, in addition to courts consistently looking at how many people have been moved.”
Crockett has also since complained about Democrats’ numbers falling following the requirement of ID for mail-in ballots, seemingly without realizing what she was admitting.
