Lisa Murkowski, the left’s most reliable RINO in the Senate, has found a new excuse to not cut out of control government spending and waste: that it’s traumatizing people.
She also voiced her opinion that the only Republicans are actually cutting spending now is because they’re afraid of Donald Trump and Elon Musk (as if this is an indictment of Trump and Musk!)
“They’re looking at how many things are being thrown at me, and it’s like, ‘Maybe I just better duck and cover. That’s why you’ve got everybody just like, zip lip, not saying a word because they’re afraid they’re going to be taken down. They’re going to be primaried. They’re going to be given names in the media.”
“They’re traumatizing people,” she said of DOGE spending cuts to FEMA funding luxury hotels for illegals, Sesame Street in Iraq, and voter confidence summits in Liberia.
“I’m not going to compromise my own integrity by hiding from my words when I feel they need to be spoken,” Murkowski said. “And it may be that Elon Musk has decided he’s going to take the next billion dollars that he makes off of Starlink and put it directly against Lisa Murkowski.”
Back in December, Musk threatened to fund primary challengers to Republicans who get in the way of the Trump agenda.
In the last Alaska Senate election, Murkowski got 53.7% of the vote (136,330) to her Republican challenger Kelly Tshibaka’s 46.3% (117,534 votes). Nearly all votes to Democrat candidate Patricia Chesbro ended up being redistributed to Murkowski (20,571) in their ranked choice voting system.
