Pelosi Furious When Insider Trading Allegations Are Brought Up
Nancy Pelosi wasnât happy when Jake Tapper brought up Donald Trumpâs insider trading allegations against her.
The allegations are nothing new, and there are entire websites devoted to tracking her trades, which have always vastly outperformed the markets, and even some of the best money managers in the world. There's even an exchange traded fund that trades on the stock market that tracks the trades of Democrats as a whole, which uses the ticker âNANCâ in tribute to her as the face of congressional insider trader.
As PJ Mediaâs Matt Margolis reports:
Tapper began to quote Trump, saying, âNancy Pelosi became richââ before Pelosi abruptly cut him off. âWhyâwhy do you have to read that?â she snapped, clearly not happy with where the discussion was going.
Tapper attempted to defuse the tension, saying he just wanted to give her a chance to respond to Trump's claims. But Pelosi was having none of it. âWeâre here to talk about the 60th anniversary of Medicaid. Thatâs what I agreed to come to talk about,â she protested.
The tension only escalated as Tapper continued, âHe accused you of insider trading. Whatâs your response to that?â
âUh, thatâs râridiculous,â she stammered. She then tried to shift the focus onto her support for reforms. âI very much support the stop thâuh, the trading of members of Congress. Not that I think anybodyâs doing anything wrong. If they are, they are prosecuted and they go to jail, but because of the, uh, confidence it instills in the American people. Donât worry about this.â

Pelosiâs insider trading has been in open secret for decades - back in 2011, 60 Minutes questioned Pelosi about some of her suspicious trades, to which she pretended to not know what they were talking about.
