The numbers are in on Nancy Pelosi’s stock trades over the entirety of her career since 1987, and they defy

As the New York Post reported, Pelosi and her husband Paul have made over $130 million in stock trading profits over the course of her congressional career.

Before first taking Congressional office in 1987, the then-47-year-old freshman and her hubby, venture capitalist Paul Pelosi, reported between $610,000 and $785,000 in stocks in their portfolio, according to a copy of her ā€œhand deliveredā€ 1987 financial disclosure form. They held a dozen stocks, including CitiBank, and in many companies no longer publicly traded. That portfolio has soared to $133.7 million today, according to the latest estimates from Quiver Quantitative.

In percentage terms, it amounts to a 16,930% return over nearly four decades since taking office in 1987. This amounts to an annualized return of over 26% a year, more than triple that of the S&P 500’s roughly 8%.

This is even significantly higher than the 20% annual rate of return that her friend George Soros’ Quantum Fund maintained for over four decades. Of the best performing hedge funds of all time, only one, Renaissance Technologies’ Medallion Fund, performs Pelosi over a multi-decade period.
