Support for Deporting *All* Illegals Skyrockets

CNN’s data guy Harry Enten has more good news for Donald Trump’s agenda, showing that support for deporting *all* illegal aliens, not just those with criminal records (in addition to the crime of entering the country illegally) has reached record highs. 

When Trump was campaigning on immigration in 2016, only 38% supported deporting all illegals (though a larger share supported deporting some). After four years of the Biden border crisis, that figure has rocketed to 56% supporting the measure, with 43% opposing (and again, some percent of that 43% support deporting some illegals, just not all). 

In the report Enten quotes the illegal alien population at 11 million, but that’s an impossible number. The “11 million illegal aliens” estimate has remained frozen in time for over two decades - and somehow has been the “official estimate” both the day Biden took office and left office. In other words, it’s about as reliable as when the Chinese government just started reporting zero COVID deaths one day. 

Even before Biden took office, a Yale University study that used mathematical modeling based on demographic and immigration data, such as inflows, outflows, deportations, and visa overstays, from 1990 to 2016, estimated the illegal alien population then at 22.1 million. Furthermore, by the end of fiscal year 2024, the Biden administration had logged nearly 3 million inadmissible encounters, and 10.8 million total encounters with illegals.
