“That’s a Blatant Lie” - Megyn Kelly Slams Liberal Student Blaming Trump for Charlie Kirk Assassination

Megyn Kelly took down a borderline hysterical left-wing student who attempted to blame President Donald Trump’s rhetoric for the assassination of Charlie Kirk during a Turning Point USA debate at Virginia Tech University on Wednesday.

“I want to know why you support a president who contributes to the rhetoric that got your friend Charlie killed,” the student asked. “You saw [at the Charlie Kirk memorial] he said, ‘I hate my enemies’… Stephen Miller said similar things. How can you support him when he contributed to what got Charlie killed?”

“What you said is not true,” Kelly fired back, as the student tried to cite some BS study claiming that 70% of political violence is from the right.  “Look it up!” he shouted. “The DOJ just pulled it.. the DOJ just pulled the study from their website because they’re delusional.”

Kelly corrected him, noting that the data was misleading. “That’s not true because… once you pull the crazies [misclassified as right-wing] out of there, it is overwhelmingly left-wing violence,” she explained, while the student continued to interrupt.

She then addressed the core accusation. “First of all, let me take on the first premise of your question, that it was President Trump’s rhetoric that led to an assassin killing our friend Charlie Kirk,” Kelly said firmly. “That’s a blatant lie, it’s a defamatory blaspheme, and it’s inappropriate in this setting.”

The student tried to claim Kelly had twisted his words. “That’s not what I said,” he objected.

“Yes, it is,” Kelly shot back. The student stammered in response: “No, I said he contributed to the political atmosphere, the, the, the tension.”

Kelly pointed out; “Well, then you have no point. Then your point is utterly empty. Contributing to the atmosphere… let’s just make clear, let’s just make clear. This guy was motivated by leftist ideology,” she continued, to loud applause. “We know it from the bullet casings, we know it from the Utah governor, we know it from his own mother. Yes, we do. Let’s be really clear on that.”
