The Numbers Are in: Trump’s Deportations Really Are Historic

Promises made, promises kept.
With over 500,000 illegal aliens physically deported (and many, many more self-deportations) since President Donald Trump took office in January, he’s on track to exceed the record number of illegals deported out of the United States.
According to the DHS, they’ve deported over 515,000 illegals since January 20. Spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News that they’re “on pace to shatter historic records” by deporting 600,000 illegals by the end of Trump’s first year back in office.
It must be noted that during the Obama and Biden administrations, most "deportations" were simply turning around people caught at the border. These types of "deportations" aren't showing up in the statistics during Trump's second term for the simple reason that no one is trying to illegally cross the border in the first place.
She also noted that the true deportation figure exceeds 2 million, because 1.6 million who they claim voluntarily self-deported.
The evidence for the 1.6 million self-deportation figure shows up in the statistics.
For one, the number of foreign-born workers (illegal and legal) in the labor force has declined by 1.1 million workers as of the August jobs report (the September jobs report has been delayed due to the government shutdown). This doesn’t include illegals working “under the table.”
And even more relevant, the foreign-born population in the U.S. has decreased by 2.2 million this year.
