Trump Reacts to Latest Indictment

Donald Trump put out a video responding to special counsel Jack Smithâs 45-page indictment of him reaffirming that he's not backing down.
Trump said; âOur country is in a very dark place right now. But even after everything the deep state has done to me, I will never give up on America. Mark my words, in 2024 we will win back the White House, we will make America great again, I have no doubt about it. They come at me from left, they come at me from right, the RINOs, the communists, the Marxists, the fascists - we will not only survive, we will be stronger than ever before. We are fighting a fight like nobody ever thought possible, and weâre winning. We won in 2016, we had a rigged election in 2020 but got more votes than any sitting president. Weâre going to win like never before and weâre going to make America great again.â
Smithâs indictment charges Trump with âconspiring to defraud the U.S., conspiring to disenfranchise voters, and conspiring and attempting to obstruct an official proceedingâ based on his behavior after the 2020 presidential election, and on January 6th. Ahead of the indictment, Trump had called into question why it would take two and a half years to charge him if he had really done anything wrong, suggesting the timing is political.
Further suggesting that the case is political, the case was assigned to U.S. District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan, who has made a reputation for herself as being extremely tough while sentencing January 6 defendants, and has been the only federal judge in Washington D.C. to sentence defendants to longer than the government requested. Chutkan also worked for a law firm that employed Hunter Biden.
