Young Men Flip Republican As Democrat Party Favorability Craters to Record Low

Democrats just canât stop losing: recent polling data reveals a significant decline in the Democrat Party's popularity, marking a historic low in public favorability. According to a CNN poll conducted from July 10-13, 2025, only 28% of Americans view the Democratic Party favorably, a slight drop from the previous record low of 29% in March 2025, representing the lowest favorability rating since CNN began polling in 1992. Similarly, an NBC News poll from March 7-11, 2025, reported a mere 27% of registered voters holding a positive view of the party, the lowest in NBCâs polling history dating back to 1990.
This decline is driven partly by internal dissatisfaction, with only 63% of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents expressing a favorable view, down from 81% at the start of the Biden administration in 2021.
Meanwhile, the age cohort that Democrats have always taken for granted, young voters, hasnât been trending how theyâve ever expected.
Among men specifically, the conventional wisdom that you become more conservative as you get older is changing before our very eyes. According to the latest from the Pew Research Center, young men are the least Democrat-leaning of any generation.
Among Pewâs other findings were that:
- 46% identify with or lean toward the Republican Party, and 45% identify with or lean toward the Democratic Party.
- Today, men are 12 percentage points more likely than women to affiliate with the Republican Party. Conversely, women are 12 points more likely than men to affiliate with the Democratic Party.
- Men in all age groups are now more likely to align with the Republican Party than the Democratic Party.
The way things are trending, "Democraty Party favorability hits record low" is a headline you'll see many more times in coming months and years.
